Advocacy

I have been involved in the climate justice movement for over ten years and have worked closely as an organiser, campaign coordinator and advocate with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, 350.org, Front Line Action on Coal, The Greens and Brink Festival. I represented Australia at the 2012 Asia-Pacific Environmental Youth Forum.

I am on the Global Youth Committee of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and was one of the co-founders of the group Arts & Cultural Workers for Climate Action. I was awarded the 2021 WA Young Environmentalist of the Year.

Arts and Cultural Workers for Climate Action was established in Boorloo (Perth) in 2019 to bring together artists and arts workers in Western Australia to act on the climate emergency. We led a sector-wide shutdown and support of the 2019 School Strike for Climate and along with a broad coalition of community, environment and artist groups, campaigned for FRINGEWORLD and Perth Festival to divest from their fossil fuel funding with Woodside and Chevron.

I have written about divestment in the arts and a just transition away from fossil fuels in SeeSaw Mag (‘From Art-washing to climate justice’) and spoke at the WA Museum on the panel ‘Re-imagining worlds and rediscovering hope in culture and arts’.
